What features does the app offer?

A two-sided market app which enables parents to offer and seek services to and from one another. For more networking capability, there is a chat community and a quick hire feature which allows the parent to find help quickly. Parents are able to build their profile and post their profile card and skills to the OV community in the app, which will assist them in growing their local Village quickly.

Some of the more unique features include the many layers of security embedded throughout the app to offer a safe space exclusively for families.

Background checks are mandatory for all Village Providers. Background checks are required for anyone providing a service. Village Seekers can “connect” with other Village Seekers and are able to see if their connections have hired Village Providers in order to get personal references. And finally, Village Seekers are able to see reviews based on other seeker’s experiences directly on the Village Provider’s profile.
Ultimately, the feature that really sets us apart in this review feature, is that both Village Providers and Village Seekers can give star-ratings to one another based on communication, timeliness and reliability. Additionally, each profile obtains a cancellation rate on their profile, to steer away any serial cancellers.

You can sign up to Our Village as both a Village Seeker and Village Provider, and are able to easily toggle from one user experience to the other.

Quick Hire Feature allows parents to send out an emergency request for a hire the same day. Simply put out a job ad with details like time, job description and price you are paying, and this request will be sent out to all Village Providers who are available during this time as a push notification.

Promotions Feature- is specifically for Village Providers who would like to offer a special promotion to all seekers who are “following” their profile. This allows these providers to potentially get more business during slow times.

When will it be available in my area?

Currently Our Village is launching in DFW Texas. Sign up for email and SMS updates to find out when we are coming to your area.

How do I join as a Village Provider?

We made it super easy for Providers to offer their services on Our Village app. Download the Our Village app. You will complete your profile in-app. You will be prompted to complete a background check. Once your background check has been completed you will be notified in the app to begin applying for jobs.

What do the background checks cover?

Our standard background check is required for all Village Providers. It covers a SSN trace, enhanced nationwide criminal database in the past 7 years, a search for sexual or violent crimes and the DOJ sex offender registry in 49 states.

If you are signing up to offer transportation services, you will be subjected to a Department of Motor Vehicles state driving record.

Village Providers have the option to sign up for a more in-depth background check to be displayed on their profiles, to attract more potential members.
